CTC Tourist Competition - Information for Event Organisers CTC logo

  1. Organisation of individual events is the responsibilty of the relevant CTC Local Group or Affiliated Club.

  2. Entry Fee for the event is the responsibility of the organising Local Group or Affiliated Club.

  3. Submitting Events for the Tourist Competition is usually done in the autumn, ready for the following season, although new events can of course be added at any time. Event details should be submitted to the competition co-ordinator, Bob Kynaston. To minimise any need for retyping, electronic submission of details by e-mail is strongly preferred, using the standard event listing form.

  4. Entry Forms need only be of a simple format, including the name of organising Local Group/Affiliated Club, title of event and date held. Space is also required for competitor's name, address, CTC Local Group and where appropriate whether the competitor is (a) a lady, (b) a junior (under 18 years), (c) a veteran (over 50 years). The date for the age division is the 1st March of the current year. Also any other relevant information you think fit.

  5. Start Sheet should be sent to the competitors as confirmation of receipt of entry, giving start and event details with a route sheet in the case of reliability rides, at least 7 days before the event if possible.

  6. Result Sheet must be sent to Bob Kynaston within 14 days. The result sheet should list all successful riders and if known indicate CTC Local Group of rider, whether a Lady, Junior or Veteran and CTC Membership Number. All riders, especially if from other Local Groups, should receive a result sheet. A standard result sheet is now supplied, please use if at all possible.

  7. Electonic submission of results is possible. It may be that you have your result sheet in a Word or Excel document for your own use. Providing that it contains all the information required for the Tourist Competition, this can be sent as an alternative to the normal form. The required information for each CTC member who completes the event is as follows:

We have an optional Excel template that you may use if you wish to ensure that all the required information is included. If you want to add additional information to this for local use, that's fine, but please make it easy for us to delete before extracting the Tourist Competition data, (e.g. by putting it as separate columns).

    Submitting results

All electronic submission of results should be to Mark Draper, who will check the data and put it into a standard format before passing on to the Tourist Competition Co-Ordinator, Bob Kynaston.

  8. Registration fees have been abolished for 2008 onwards.
