CTC Tourist Competition - Frequently Asked Questions CTC logo

Do I have to be a CTC member to take part?
Yes. Non-members are welcome to try one or two rides before joining the CTC, but if you start riding regularly with a group you are expected to join. Membership records are checked before certificates are issued.

How do I enter events?
Decide which event(s) from the programme you are interested in, and either telephone or write to the event organiser asking for details of the event.

Do I need to send in my own results?
No. A results sheet is sent to the Tourist Competition Co-Ordinator by the event organiser.

How will I know how I got on in the competition during the season?
At the end of the season a full results sheet is produced with the names and points for all riders who entered at least 4 events. This is sent by mail to all riders who scored at least 50 points, and is also posted on this website. The results sheet is usually available during December.

Can I find out my current position in the competiton during the season?
Yes. The latest positions in the competition are posted on this website throughout the season.

Do all CTC Local Groups participate in the competition?
No. Most do, though some Local Groups do not run events, so cannot participate. A small number of Local Groups decide not to take part for reasons of their own.
